Cybersecurity Sales Engineer

As the Cybersecurity Engineer, you will participate in supporting full sales lifecycle from initial customer contact to contract signature. This includes, supporting other business development professionals to create market awareness for company products/solutions, grow product revenue, build, and maintain customer relationships. You will also serve as company and customer subject matter expert for cybersecurity. You are responsible for crafting technical solutions based on understanding of customer and market needs, articulating trends and requirements of future needs to company service centers and portfolios. You should have experience in direct selling, developing winning proposals, and pricing solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Consult with sales teams and customers to provide technical expertise regarding the design, customization, implementation, and account management of cybersecurity networking products and services
  • Contribute to sale through pre-sale / post-sale technical consulting activities
  • Demo solutions
  • Provide technical support during sales presentations, product demonstrations, and installation of products to ensure the system is superbly functioning according to specifications
  • Leads the technical discussions in client meetings
  • Formulates responses to customer inquiries and questions
  • Solutions using new and emerging technologies
  • Dynamically and creatively adjust to the needs of the moment
  • Assists less experienced peers
  • Must be able to obtain federal and military security clearance

Required Skills/Abilities

  • In depth knowledge of customer networks and network technologies such as switches, routers, SDN, network security, and network security devices (NGFW, IDPS)
  • Requires extensive knowledge of company products and services
  • Need to understand DDOS protection, Network Security, Cloud Security, Incident Response, Kills Chains, Packet Analysis / Sniffer, BGP Flowspec, and packet-switched networks
  • In-depth, working knowledge of client business drivers, applications, and networking industry trends
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Understands kill chains, APT, MITRE ATT&CK Framework, Threat Intelligence Platform (TIP) like Threat Quotient.

  • Understands competitive products, services, and strategies
  • Exceptional presentation skills
  • Effectively collaborate with internal and external cross-functional organizations and customers

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, computer science, computer engineering or related field
  • 5+ years of experience working with Networking and/or Cybersecurity solutions
  • 2 + Years of Technical Consulting experience
  • 7 + years of experience with networks (e.g. MLS, Routing Protocols, TCP/IP, VPNs, VoIP, Applications, Optical Networks, Wireless-Mobility, Security, Hosting, etc.)
  • strong knowledge and understanding of the security industry. In-depth knowledge of multiple security solution areas (network security, SASE, CASB, SOAR, and UEBA)
