Internal IT Support Technician

Purpose

This role will execute streamlined internal IT support. This individual will execute all plans coordinated by the Director of Managed Services and CTO and will provide support for IT hardware/telecom/internet service tickets, emergency issues, and proactive support maintenance.

Operational Management

  • Manage the deployment, monitoring, maintenance, development, upgrade, and support of all IT systems, including desktop PCs and laptops, operating systems, hardware, software, IT peripherals, telecom, and internet. Management of server maintenance.
  • Inventory of all IT equipment, systems, and phones
  • Coordinate purchasing required IT systems, components
  • Configuration and deployment of laptops, PCs, phones, tablets and other computing devices.
  • Management and maintenance of LAN and WAN infrastructure, including Cisco, HP, Meraki switches, wiring, uplinks, and other components
  • Maintenance and management of all AV, Paging, voice and CCTV systems for all locations
  • Maintenance and management of internal networks, servers, and services
  • Track all activities in the ticketing system for monthly monitoring purposes and maximum uptime for internal customers
  • Keep current with the latest technologies such as StorageCraft, VLANS, VMware, Office 365 and Wi-Fi, Microsoft and cloud solutions
  • Meet deadlines for internal IT projects/upgrades/rollouts
  • Solely responsible for all IT, software and phone asset management including wired and wireless
  • Establish and maintain communications “real-time” with all employees when IT telecom and internet functions have been compromised including ETA for resolution
  • Will place request additional helpdesk support and engineering services directly to Director of Managed Services and CTO

Knowledge & Experience

  • Strong technical knowledge of network and PC operating systems, telecom, and internet, especially:

o Windows Server

o Cisco routing switching

o Apple and Android phones

o ShoreTel phone system including voice mail. Softphones and wired, reporting and analytics

o PC, Phone and tablet imaging

o Print Servers, drivers, sharing and SNMP

o Managing file shares

o Mobile Device Management (Maas360)

o MS SQL Server management

o Backups and DR

  • Strong technical knowledge of current network hardware, protocols, and standards
  • Proven experience in IT infrastructure planning and development
  • Excellent understanding of the organization’s goals and objectives
  • In-depth knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws
  • Strong understanding of project management principles
  • Ability to multitask and thrive in emergency circumstances
  • Great care for complete confidentiality

Work Conditions

  • 8am-5pm
  • On-call availability 24×7
  • Sitting for extended periods of time
  • Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, power tools, and to handle other computer components
  • Occasional inspection of cables in floors and ceilings
  • Lifting and transporting of moderately heavy objects, such as computers and peripherals
  • Assist with customer issues as directed
  • Other duties as assigned
