Technical Support Engineer (Pre Sales)
Daily Responsibilities
- Coordinate closely with internal sales, sales support, and service resources to align solution design with customers’ business requirements
- Calculate client quotations and improve negotiations and contract closing by providing support to the Sales Team
- Analyze costs and sales margins
- Liaising with other members of staff and other technical experts
- Involvement in the completion of technical questions on RFPs and ensuring that the technology is positioned well within the customer’s organization
- Providing feedback on product features and priorities to marketing, the service management, and core-engineering team
- Be well-versed in the selling company’s portfolio of products and services and keep up with new technologies entering the market
- Detect functional gaps post scoping, analyze them and work with the engineering team to find a viable solution to address customer requirements
- Compare and evaluate offers from suppliers
- Research potential vendors and products
- Develop resource for alternative suppliers
- Negotiate the best possible price
- Manage all cost and pricing updates as announced by suppliers
- Coordinate the timely processing of client orders or schedule changes
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or a combination of education and experience in computer science, information systems, or business administration
- Five years of industry experience, including two or more years in a sales engineering or consulting
- Proven technology skills, outstanding interpersonal abilities, and strong written and verbal communication skills
- Program, Project, and Business Management experience
- Understanding of supply chain procedures
- Attention to detail, plus analytical and problem-solving capabilities
- Positive, service-oriented personality
- Reliable vehicle, car insurance, valid driver’s license
