Technical Support Engineer (Pre Sales)

Daily Responsibilities

  • Coordinate closely with internal sales, sales support, and service resources to align solution design with customers’ business requirements
  • Calculate client quotations and improve negotiations and contract closing by providing support to the Sales Team
  • Analyze costs and sales margins
  • Liaising with other members of staff and other technical experts
  • Involvement in the completion of technical questions on RFPs and ensuring that the technology is positioned well within the customer’s organization
  • Providing feedback on product features and priorities to marketing, the service management, and core-engineering team
  • Be well-versed in the selling company’s portfolio of products and services and keep up with new technologies entering the market
  • Detect functional gaps post scoping, analyze them and work with the engineering team to find a viable solution to address customer requirements
  • Compare and evaluate offers from suppliers
  • Research potential vendors and products
  • Develop resource for alternative suppliers
  • Negotiate the best possible price
  • Manage all cost and pricing updates as announced by suppliers
  • Coordinate the timely processing of client orders or schedule changes

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or a combination of education and experience in computer science, information systems, or business administration
  • Five years of industry experience, including two or more years in a sales engineering or consulting
  • Proven technology skills, outstanding interpersonal abilities, and strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Program, Project, and Business Management experience
  • Understanding of supply chain procedures
  • Attention to detail, plus analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • Positive, service-oriented personality
  • Reliable vehicle, car insurance, valid driver’s license
